This film in this week's JCA film series is "Tokyo Sonata," the kind of movie that makes you realize why Japanese film has such a strong international reputation. It's the story of a family in which the father has lost his job, but keeps it secret, pretending to go to work every day as usual so his family doesn't catch on... and things slowly disintegrate.
